Teaching children is a great art
Teaching children is the art of facilitating education. The role of a teacher is to teach literacy and numeracy including the school subjects. In many countries a teacher should first possess credentials from a university or a college to get into the teaching profession. Even parents can be called as teachers as they teach their children to lead their lives.
For a parent a child becomes their most important priority in life. They dedicate their lives for the well being of their children. From the day the child is born the parents start teaching him the ways of this world. Parents are the best teachers in a child’s life. Their teaching begins when the child is born and continues throughout his life. They teach him the principles of life.
Starting from eating, walking, reading, talking they teach the child every important thing which is needed to live. The learning which a child gets at home is the most important learning he gets in his life. They teach him how to be well mannered, well behaved and sensible individual. Hence their minds should be disciplined, capable, alert and enthusiastic with many interests.
At every age the child has to be taught a new thing. When he is born he is taught to eat then walking and then talking. Then at preschool age the child is taught both by parents and teachers about the subjects. At school and at home with other kids the child learns the art of sharing. Slowly the child’s personality is built with all these factors in account. A childs brain is like a clay in the early age and it moulds they way we mould it and this the most important factor to be considered while educating him.
The main aim of Teaching children is to prepare the child to live in this contemporary world, to believe in God, to cultivate good culture , develop knowledge etc. Knowledge makes the child a perfect individual who can question, take decisions, judge what is wrong and what is right. Hence educating the child is a means of developing the child’s growth in knowledge and learning. Each child is given talent by God education aids them to develop these.
Though at home parents don’t have a curriculum to teach the children but at school the teachers usually follow a curriculum. The main purpose of this is to provide a guideline for teaching. In a curriculum the topics for each subject are listed. In schools teachers have targets and topics to be covered for every term which is the main criteria for them.
Hence, teaching children whether it is at home or at school or anywhere plays a vital role in building their character. Remember, each and every individual builds the society and well mannered, well behaved people make it worth to live in this society.
